The Wright Family
love abounds
Welcome to our home on the web
Use the links above to navigate around. I have shared our children's growth charts, their birthstories and photos. A little about us as a family is that we practice Attachment Parenting (heh...we didn't know this is what it was called until I picked up a Sears book). We co-sleep with our kids, and gentle wean them out of our bed around the preschool years. We also babywear, I haven't owned a stroller in years and am happy to not bother with one. I have found it easier to wear the kids until they are old enough to walk by holding hands. This actually has happened earlier in our house than is typical.

We also practice child-led weaning. My daughter Jessie weaned at 2.75 years. James who is a young 2 is still nursing and I expect to tandem him with the baby who is due at the end of April. Of course he may wean but I doubt it. Just for the record the average weaning age in developed countries is 2.5 to 3.5 years. I have no shyness in saying my kids are all well adjusted and secure. They have no issues spending time at the grandparent's house. They are all very social and enjoy a great school life and home life.

Jackie our eldest child has a form of Autism and is diagnosed as having Pervasive Developemental Disorder. While challenging, we have enjoyed guiding Jackie and do believe she will eventually grow into an independent and successful adult. I think practicing AP with her has helped to make her more affectionate and social than she would have been had we not.

Anyhow...that's us. Mostly. There is more but I am going to leave things at that for now.
